Pimm's

Fewer drinks really sum up summer like a refreshing tall glass of Pimm’s No.1.

Even over 100 years after its creation, this deep red tipple is still the high point of a quintessential British summertime. And, this summer, you can enjoy a glass or a pitcher right here at your local Wetherspoon pub.

History

Created in 1823 by James Pimm, Pimm’s was originally served to customers in his oyster bar as an aid to digestion.

Served in what was known as the ‘No.1 cup’, the delicious liqueur made with fruits and herbs became so popular that Pimm decided to open a distillery to keep up with demand.

Pimm's at Wetherspoon

Over the next 50 years, popularity of the drink soared around the world, with ‘Pimm’s o’clock’ becoming a globally shared phenomenon. Although the recipe itself remains a closely guarded secret, that doesn’t stop Wetherspoon being the number-one Pimm’s seller worldwide; in fact, we even set a Guinness World Record in 2014 for selling the most pitchers of Pimm’s across our pubs in 24 hours!

Summer

This summer, you can enjoy the classic Pimm’s glass and pitcher, served with orange, lemon, lime, cucumber and mint. Hopefully, if the sun is shining, you’ll be able to savour it while sitting in one of our many beer gardens up and down the country – for the true Pimm’s experience.
