The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) raises those issues which matter to UK pubs and brewers – to help them to not only survive, but thrive and serve communities across the land.
From fair taxation to sustainable business operations, the BBPA works closely with its members to understand what matters most to them and to champion for change.
Below is some information about the BBPA’s campaign ‘Long live the local’, plus its video ‘Cheers for the beers’ which takes a look at the journey of a pint – from growing the hops to pouring in a pub and all of those involved in between.
From The British Beer and Pub Association
The brewing and pub sector is a core part of the UK economy, supporting 936,000 jobs and £14.3 billion in wages. That is why government support, like a freeze on beer duty, helps not only the sector, but the entire UK economy.
We want to show the people who make up the large economic figures… to show the passion and skills of those in the sector who make a pint possible, not only to celebrate them and the work which they do to deliver the pint which Brits enjoy with their friends and family, but also to show politicians that support for the sector is support for their voters.
