Welcome

The stunning Georgian architecture of this old coaching inn has been a feature of the Victorian spa town of Malvern for over 200 years. We are situated in the heart of the town and have 23 en suite rooms, many of which have spectacular views across the Severn Plain. All rooms have tea- and coffee-making facilities, complimentary water, hairdryer and Freeview TV. There is also unlimited free Wi-Fi in all rooms. Please be aware that there is limited access to our rooms. We do not have a lift facility, and guests are advised that there are several flights of stairs to some of the rooms.

Please note, we no longer accept cash or gift cards as a method of payment for hotel rooms.

Great Malvern lies in the foot of the Malvern Hills and is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty on the eastern flanks of the Worcestershire Beacon and North Hill which can be accessed from the town centre.
Great Malvern is approximately 8 miles south west of the city of Worcestershire, on the eastern slopes of the Malvern Hills. Altitude of the town ranges from 50 to 200 metres above sea level and the River Severn runs roughly north-south about 4 miles to the east of the town.
Legend states that as C.S.Lewis and J.R.R.Tolkien were walking home in the snow after leaving a local pub, they saw a lamp post shining through the snow and Lewis turned to one of his friends and said “that would make a very nice opening line to a book” . The novel The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis used that image as the characters enter to the realm of Narnia.
Sir Edward Elgar lived most of his life around Malvern and is buried in Little Malvern cemetery.
There is a lot to see and do not only in Great Malvern but also in the local surrounding areas which are easy accessible by car, bus or train.
